Land, Sea and People
In the past we’ve used the slogan “land, sea and people.” In part because it sounds just like Lenin! In part because it was a way to summarise that we cared about sustainability on land, because we only select organically-grown and certified ingredients, as well as at sea and we care about people, i.e. the social dimension, how people and communities are impacted.
Our fish is wild fish. Wild fish cannot be certified organic simply because the organic system is a farm-based system so farmed fish cannot be certified organic. Organic farming is the only standard that has been formulated by law: all other standards are in effect voluntary, organic is law. Organic is the only farming system that can be objectively or legally defined as sustainable. It is based on regenerative and agroecological farming practices and the preservation and enhancement of biodiversity, soil health and water quality.
