We agree in principle with the concept of third-party verification of a sustainability claim.  Naturland is a founding father of the organic movement and additionally developed both fair trade and wild fish standards.  Like MSC and other standards, the auditing is carried out by a third-party auditor independent of the standard maker.  We arranged and organised Naturland certification of the Azores tuna fishery in 2020 and have paid since its inception for the whole supply chain to be audited – the boats, the factory and ourselves.  2022 was Naturland’s 40^th birthday and a visit of the Azores was arranged for German customers.  The Naturland certification obviously checks the chain of custody and is aimed at more selective and more artisan fisheries combining environmental and social standards.
